As the District 5 Commissioner Mike represents Andover, Coon Rapids and Oak Grove on the Anoka County Board. Mike lives in Andover, where he and his wife Beth raised their two children. Mike was elected mayor of Andover in 2000 and served as mayor for 14 years. Mike recently retired from General Mills after 45 years. Mike has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University.
Mike retired after 45-years at General Mills in July 2023. At General Mills he was a Brand Specialist where he created relationships companywide to build strong teams in the areas of Marketing and Research & Development.
He carried over his skills of being able to work with a wide variety of people in the corporate world to help him be successful in politics.
As an avid sports fan, Mike was honored to be the featured Champion on a custom Wheaties package.
Mike is bringing the same dedication he demonstrated during his career at General Mills to being a Champion for the citizens of Anoka County.
